THE SOUND OF MONEY
A musical adventure about Economics and the building of community
Our "best teaching musical," according to many satisfied teachers. The Sound of Money is a 40 minute musical full of drama and humor that brings to life the specific vocabulary and concepts of elementary and middle school economics lessons. Created in collaboration with the Wisconsin Council of Economic Educators, this show is perfect for the school that is attempting to integrate economics into the curriculum. Plus, the Teacher's Kit comes with 10 amazing lesson plans for creating successful and innovative economic units - all of which tie into the lyrics and plot of The Sound of Money. Learn how to start a currency-based economy in your classroom; or start a school store; or work in economic concepts and word problems into math, spelling, reading
The music is full of upbeat and full of variety. For example, "Supply and Demand" is taught in an auction accompanied by how-down music. This is a wonderfully entertaining teaching tool; and Cathy Vanderhyden's illustrations give the storybook an enchanting personal touch. (See below)
